Automatic resize images while uploading

My website is still running on version 1.41 with the FF-ID Image hack.
Is there any way to resize images while uploading, I am posting often images with my
mobile to the website but they are all to big. I want to make a maximum size from
480x600 pixels.

Or do anyone know if the latest version from Cutenews can be set to auto resize?
Than I can upgrade the website with the latest version.

Any help will be appreciated.
