ability to make stand-alone pages that do not require a category..
better url. example, if i were to title a post "Cutenews" then the link would be www.url.com/page.php?show=cutenews or something of the sort instead of all the numbers etc

I would also like to have, in editnews, a possibility ou uploading other file type (ex : pdf) and link it inside the msg. Not just upload them like an image (and changing images.mdu, yeah ive made a search).
What's would be great : a new folder where you can upload different kind of stuff (pdf, doc, etc.) and a way to link the file inside the editnews.
Actually, i use cutenews to make a community able to publish their own stuff, without any help. I try many scripts and this is the best one.

Id like to be able to have my photos sorted into different categories, asnd the categories wud be different folders, so i cud sperate all the different sets of photos e.g. spy shots, press images, impressions, etc...

Sorry about this, but id also like to add:
Maybe everytime a piece of news was added into say category number 1, all that news would also be automaticly added into say a forum called General in a phpbb message board???

Thats going a bit over the top i think.. it maybe made as a hack by someone but chances of it getting made for any cutenews releases are very low.

I'd really like to have reverse comments/pagination for one article. 
I'd say stay with no SQL database because some people have limited on their webhost, Plus it already beats the other news management system out there. cutenews is just cute!
I have no idea as to wether this is even remotely possible, but some kind of wap-support would be super. If, for example, index.wml is updated (automaticly) every time someone adds/edits news.
Or something. :unsure:

Oh i know, have some templates allready installed with previews on how they will look on your site. That would be nice! for people who cant code their own css and style sheets ect...

i have some wishes:
1. in the "tags code" are locate ot the about.mdu , if the "TEAM CODERS" insert a code that will small image in the news and after u click on th picture the large PIC will be open.
its wery usefull to someon (like me) thats not have space for large pictures.
(u can see the file i have edit down below
JUST EDIT THE ".txt" end to ".mdu")
2. it calls "STICKY NEWS" why you dont do that??
why not to made an "option" like the postponed, but calls "STICKY NEWS"
and in this case the news you'r chose will be stick..

One wish i have. Possibility to upload and attach a documents (link) (ex. .pdf .doc) inside a news. ALike almost you can put a image now. But only a link.

The feature I would most like to see next is for comments to be held for approval, so then I could weed out the damned fake meds peddlars who just love to put their links in to the system...

Installation instructions are for cutenews 1.3.6 but with a little bit of coding it should work in 1.4.0 as well.
I tried that just now, carerfully edited the files. But I am getting this error even though the file in question is CHMOD to 777
Warning: fopen(./data/comments4approve.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xxxxx/xxxxxl/xxxxx/xxxxx/xxxxx/cutenews/inc/shows.inc.php on line 265
CuteNews can not write to file '', check if it exists and is proper CHMOD'ed
Sorted out now - I used the full absolute server path rather than the relative one.
Maybe if in the Search option was an option that give me to search in
the text at the "full story"..
that very usefull..
