Topic: CuteNews 1.5 Plugins
Hi everyone.
So there is a new version of cutenews out there and i'm glad for that (good job guys !) and a key feature for me is plugins !
But, and there is my question, how do you do a plugin for cutenews ?
Is there a tutorial somewhere ?
Thanx.

Well I don't know how to save it as a plugin, but i've created a featured image plugin, almost!

Also i've just hacked mine to use different image folders on the server. But no idea how to make them in to plugins!

It's very frustrating if you see that this plugin issue is announced so big, but when we ask questions about it, no one will answer.

I agree 100%
Is there anything anywhere that says how you can create plugins? Or are we just supposed to guess!?

Re: CuteNews 1.5 Plugins
Plugins require hooks that can call certain parts.
Since the 'plugins' is something new, i'm guessing they just added the necessary hooks for the current plugins.
But hooks on other critical places where data manipulation can be done are probably still missing.
==> not possible to just write plugins without any alteration to the source. Which leaves outsiders unable to make plugins.

Re: CuteNews 1.5 Plugins
The new developer-friendly and easy-to-use plug-ins system, which first made its appearance in 1.5.0, allows you to extend the basic feature set of CuteNews.
That along with a post I read by the Support team the other day says to me that rather than people making hacks, it should now be simple enough to make plugins instead of hacks.

Re: CuteNews 1.5 Plugins
i'm not familiar with the current CN code anymore.
But that would have been my guess as why there isn't any documentation anywhere.

Re: CuteNews 1.5 Plugins
I don't think there is a support team anymore. There are no reply's at all on any thread on this forum regarding questions about the new CN.
