Topic: Installation problem

Hi I am trying to install latest version and have uploaded it to my linux shared server but could not get the opening install page to display.

I submitted to my hosting company and they came back with this message:

We are getting this php error from the server :

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /hsphere/local/home/saxtonunix/cosettelawton.co.uk/cutenews/core/core.php on line 3015

It seems to be a code issue, please consult with your developer.

The code around line 3015 looks to my imexperienced eye ok line 3013 to 3015 are:

   {
        return $prefix . '/print-' . $param . '.html' . $postfix;
    }

can anyone advise please

Just make it clearer, I had made folders cdata and uploads chmod 777 and when I go to http://cosettelawton.co.uk/cutenews/index.php in Firefox I get a blank window, IE gives me this message:


The website cannot display the page  HTTP 500
     
Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

Can anyone please advise, so I can get started

Hi I have fixed the problem, I had decided that some of the files did not originally ftp correctly to the server, I have completely ftp the cutenews section and all is now working.

This is not the first time I have had ftp problems and I am using as recomended FileZilla.

Try the FTP transfer using Binary mode instead of ASCII
