The latest version of the image script is out.

Changes:
You can add a shadow to the thumbs.
Thumbnail creation supports JPG and GIF files.

An example thumbnail with shadow and screenshots of the script can be found in the first post.

You mean another field in image properties? I'll try.

Of course, can't be perfect. It would be too good to be true.
Suddenly, clickable thumb opens in a new browser windows (not in pop-up using javascript) (

Update: I can see on all pics uplodaded before updating images.mdu are working using pop-up. It seems that inserting new pics does not not include proper code...
FI-DD, can you fix it?

Did you enable it by setting the variables in images.mdu to "true"?

Small update:

1. New image properties: vspace and hspace.
2. Default value of the alt tag in image properties is the picture's name

Just got the update - but unfortunately I overwrote the last version - as the new version has a glitch.

The code inserted doubles the "href" reference so the align doesn't work.

EXAMPLE:

(After clicking to insert an image with align=right)
<DIV>javascript:popupMedia( </DIV><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px" alt=drawn hspace=15 src="http://www.sart.co.uk/cutenews/data/upimages/thumbs/drawn.jpg" vspace=5>

Notice the doubling of the HREF statement?
Plus no align statement even though I had selected align right from the align options...

I've tried the same with align=left but the same HREF doubling happens and with no align statement in the html code.

Yes, there was an error with the align tag when using the wysiwyg editor. It's fixed now.

But I didn't have the double href error.

Please try again.

You can delete an image in Options -> Manage Uploaded images and you've got buttons for the thumbnails in Add News -> [insert image].

What else do you want to have? Please explain in detail.

Once again FI-DD I give you maximum respect for a thoroughly useful hack *bow*

This is something every cutenews should have as standard, imho.
This will no doubt come in very handy on a few of my sites, only one question sticks:
Does it work on 1.3.6 or just 1.4.1 mate ??

I uploaded a version for 1.3.6 (removed the wysiwyg stuff) but the 1.4.1 version should work as well.

First let me THANK YOU FI-DD for all this wonderfull hacks !!!
now.... I upload the script, made the changes, and works all ok, except for this tiny little thing, it just don't add the image to my post!!!!

I click on the insert image, it works ok, but when I clik on any button to add the image, the thumb or the clickeable tumb it just do nothing.

Any help?

BTW I'm using 1.36 version

I just tested it again with Cutenews 1.3.6 and it works fine for me.

Do you have Javascript enabled or do you use a wysiwyg editor?

mmmm well I just try on IE and works ok.
But on Firefox I get this....
