Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

Well, of course I tested it with wysiwyg turned on and it was working fine for me. I'm afraid, I can't help you. https://cutephp.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif
That's a font file (.ttf). Check out c:\windows\fonts on your computer and you will find a lot of them.
Gif, jpg and png images should work.

your a legend.. thanks a mil... i will take another look at things so!

it works if i leave the window:close piece of code in the images.mdu file but i use cutenews as a gallery and its a pain to have to open the insert image page every time and click clickable thumb every time. if there was a way around this it would be great like a tick box to click which would enable you being able to instert multiple images for something like a gallery.

for 1.3.6 i had taken out window:close which ment i could scroll down along and just click clickable thumb all the way down along and it was perfect.

Fortunately, we have the internet where one can find information within seconds.  https://cutephp.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

Really really nice.. I love it https://cutephp.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

But I got one question.. is it possible to remove the pagination and just only have one page with all the images?

Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

i can only find this to be semi useful. i dont like it just cropping images because of the strain on the server and the amount of useless bandwidth transferred if the person wasn't interested to see the image anyways. it's still cool i'd love to see it get integrated with some way to auto make a smaller .jpg or .gif that linked to the larger image or maybe even in full story.. but that's no big deal i usually do all that manually i dont see that it's a big deal that way. how many people are really enjoying this script? im curious? anyone got it up other than fi-dd so i can see it in use?

That's exactly what it does.

It's an admin tool - so it will look the same. And I doubt anybody will allow you to use their admin panel to see it in action.

What surprises me is the fact that the latest version has only 2 downloads.  https://cutephp.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif

In contrast, the file upload hack has almost 2.800 downloads.

What's not working? Why is nobody complaining?

Edit: Oh, the download is not working. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll try to fix it.
Edit2: Working now. https://cutephp.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

I have 1.4.1 and have overwritten the 3.0 images.mdu file, added the watermark folder, and added thumbs folders.  That's it... and everything works except:

thumbs.

If I select an image to upload and click "upload" it just presents me with a blank template page... but upon examining the upimages folder, the picture was saved, but no thumb was created.  Because no thumb is created, I can't even see a listing of the images.

Basically, thumbs don't work in the slightest, and that impedes the ability for anything else to work.

Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

I've uploaded the new images.mdu and have created the watermark folder, and put a couple of TT fonts in there. But when I am uploading an image and tick on the "Create Watermark (Text)" box, nothing actually happens. The image is uploaded normally - with no watermark...???

And the REAL annoyance is that regardless of what I type into the "Alt Text" box, when I click on any of the "Insert" buttons the Alt Text I typed is replaced by the file name - which is highly annoying.

I think I'll have to go back to an earlier version till this is fixed...

Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

I'm not annoyed, I am curious however about why the filename replaces the alt text field. I've had that same experience. Anybody else notice this?

Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

If you are reading the page with a browser for the blind - one that reads the page out loud, this behaviour, with the alt text being replaced by the file name, means that the file name is read out twice... and the visitor still gets no description as would normally be provided by the Alt text, not what is intended surely...?

Maybe FI-DD or someone with supreme knowledge could shed some insight as to why we can't get thumbs to work?

Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

FI-DD, must say, good work with this (and your other mods/hacks). I used version 2.0 of your Advance Image Module. I had the problem with the tlinks, but i just used to modify the URLS's in the Source Code of the news posts, and all was well.

With version 3.0, i tried applying the code modifications you suggested in the first post, but This didn't help. When posting the news postw with images, i got small thumbnails of my images in the WYSIWYG editor (my thumbnail size was set to 150px). In the actual post i got the file name instead of the image. When clicking on the link to the image the URL to the original size image was also incorrect.

I then tried installing the clean (unmodified) Advanced Image Module 3.0, but this did the same.  Any ideas why the images URLs are still not correct?

Suggestion:
What would be nice was if the watermark image could be resized to fit the image being uploaded if the watermark is too big.

Re: Advanced image module for CuteNews

is there anyway that you could make an addon to this feature to enable you to upload a full size image to cutenews and let the image upload hack resize it to make it smaller as well as putting the copyright text across it????

IE. i want to reize the image to a thumbnail but also when people click the thumbnail they get a condenced smaller image somthing like 450pixels???
