In next versions I want to find :
1) User profile builder for each user.
2) A new user level : auto-journalist, that can post without approvation.

this might be usefull when looking for support.
An user which is standard include with cutenews. This user would be in a userlevel that can vieuw all pages of cutenews, but can't make any changes or can't post news. This would be handy for giving support.

I think this is definitely a good idea
I think that there should be a feature that enables you to send an article to a friend.
I wouldn't even mind it as a mod to download seperatly.
you mean like the newsletter hack. You select news and mail them to your email database.

who do I have to pay to get the image system revamped? I would love to do the following:
create folders in the image/upload folder within cutenews so that I can organize my pics better. Searching through a giant list of pics I've uploaded kills my buzz every single time.
this is the only thing keeping me from spreading the awesome goodness of cutenews.

Me.

sweet! I see that you have a paypal button too
* forgot to ask: Is this module compatible with the latest version of cutenews?

Oh, right. I forgot about it 'cause nobody clicked it.

Yes.
How about a reversed version of the RSS feed. So perhaps you are running a forum with your website and would like some news you posted on it to be copied accross to your website front page using cutenews.
Hi, This post is very informative, however I would like some specific information. If someone can help me then please send me a private message. Best Regards,
Just some small suggestions, might be do-able, might not...
1. A password-protect system where some news items can be hidden from anyone who you'd rather not have reading them (the boss, maybe? )
2. Gravatar support.
3. A way of linking to older news stories by month/year rather than the page numbers at the bottom.
What about adding sub categories? That would be very neat. For instance... say that you have a site with IT related articles. You might want to review a whole lot of products, or just build a product library. Then you might want to divide it in some main categories like Processors, HDD, Graphic Cards, Sound Cards, Speakers and so on. And then you wanna add "sub categories", maybe sorted alphabeticly, wich in real time can be diffrent brands and manufactures like Samsung, Sony, Asus, Kingston and so on...
In That case you would be able to build a product library.
A built-in captcha to prevent comment spam. I can't ever get the hack to work right, and it would be better to have it built-in.

I agree. Everytime I've tried to install the captcha, it messes up my cutenews. Just have it built in.
Haha.... I not scummy... I like clean code... i hate coping code from else where... unless its only a couple lines.
Ive been wanting to make one for sometime now... i have made simple ones for one user but thats it.
May I please request a drop-down category list?
When you write
$category= 2,3,7, etc.
All of the posts from the first most number would show up, and there would be a drop down box with the names of the other categories.
I hope this idea can be used!
This one would be very usefule:
the possibility to add custom buttons to the news editor which gives to the selected words a custom formatting (for example a custom CSS styled div).
euhm,
automatically related news items when a user read one.
user level so you can adjust some users to place only in a couple of categories not in all
Tagcloud support
already mentioned but a plugin environment for hacks would be great,
Version 1.45 or whatever it is has been hte best by far and does not require anyomore than is there.
Only things that you want but not need are required.

Yes definitely a built-in Captcha. I can install it properly by following directions, but everyone gets that stupid "go back and enter correct characters." Only a few people can get it to work. I get that problem a lot at others as well. I wish it could work on all browsers all the time
OMG I have a REALLY good idea. At least it's a good idea in my opinion. There should be different commenting options like: Only allow comments on news that is newer than (and then different options: 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, etc...). Or an option like: Only allow comments on news from the first page or something. I think that would help prevent spambots. Yes, spambots could still spam up the recent news, but it easier to delete just a little bit than delete a lot of random crap from the whole thing. I really think it would help for those who don't like captcha.
