Is it possible to re-arrange the order of the posted news?
Is it possible to re-arrange the order of the posted news?
The inability to re-order or modify the date of existing news in a friendly fashion, is a shame. It's a great script, but in my view this is something I'm really looking forward to seeing in the next version.
I would like to be able to post attatchments. Also flash...
A option of diffrent copyrights and where to put them.
For example, "News Powered by CuteNews", "Powered by CuteNews" or just "CuteNews"
I wish for a bad words filter in comments
Like the one here: http://cn.willyps.com/ ?
you are my man!
one more thing though, I haven;t found this function anywhere:
show most viewed articles
eg. the include to be showing most read news...
Please advice, if there is anything like this out there or just my wish

show most viewed articles
i did for you https://cutephp.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3940
yes, have seen that one, but its for comments, not for news articles actualy. Or am I wrong here? if the answer is that it can be modified for news as well, well, I am not that good in PHP to be able to do that.
I think showing most read articles is a very usefull feature, shows that the page is living, that people are reading and the list is changing, as the articles are viewed over time...
well, obviously me being blind.. excuse my while I take a shame minute in the corner...
I have one simple wish:
CuteFTP language packs!
So that the whole wide web can share and use Cutenews! No longer shall us foreginers limit ourselfs to the English Language
there are some language packs as far as i know
CuteFTP language packs!
lol, cuteftp i think your a bit mixed up there popojoe
but language packs for cutenews realy needs to be added,
whoops...>.<
the "cute" name is just so popular, that I forgot that this is cutenews..>.<
Yeah..language packs for cutenews will be a big help as you said. For people like me...
two suggestions:
1. admin template for each user level - so lets say commenter would have a different looking admin area, admins a different template, editors as well, etc. etc. So far I can see that you can change the template for the admin area, but not for user groups
2. news auto expire - something similar like this https://cutephp.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4755 , but different: user could choose, how long the news article should be published. After this period it will be automaticaly deleted or moved to archives. This should be editable for each article, not just for the whole section in the include code, like the link I have mentioned.
So how about these two? Has anyone already done them?

open index.php & remove:if(isset($config_skin) and $config_skin != "" and file_exists("./skins/${config_skin}.skin.php")){ require_once("./skins/${config_skin}.skin.php"); }else{ $using_safe_skin = true; require_once("./skins/default.skin.php"); }
find:
// If User is Not Logged In, Display The Login Page
add above
if($member_db[1] == 1)$config_skin = "default"; // skin for admins elseif($member_db[1] == 2)$config_skin = "simple"; // skin for editors elseif($member_db[1] == 3)$config_skin = "simple"; // skin for jurnalists elseif($member_db[1] == 4)$config_skin = "compact"; // skin for commenters if(isset($config_skin) and $config_skin != "" and file_exists("./skins/${config_skin}.skin.php")){ require_once("./skins/${config_skin}.skin.php"); }else{ $using_safe_skin = true; require_once("./skins/default.skin.php"); }
If this hasn't been mentioned before, how about image verification, just in case cutenews gets spammed bad.
Already exists: https://cutephp.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=12954
my wish:
*manual* upgrade instructions for 1.4.0 to 1.4.1,
like 'replace this with that' and 'add this after ...'
or
a php-script that updates 1.4.0 to 1.4.1
so something similar like phpBB.com offers.
Why? Because I hate reinstalling all my hacks all over again with every new Cutenews version. I know there are more people out here who would appreciate this very much.

Great How about including it as a non-mod for cutenews itself.
Because I hate reinstalling all my hacks all over again with every new Cutenews version
then shouldnt we be asking for a different hack system, so files dont have to be edited as much

You could do it like smf and just upload a zip to install a hack/mod.
Great work!
It would be nice the possibility to add multiple author for an article (for a newspaper this will be great) and the possibility for admins and editors to edit this fields (e.g. one admin or editor posts all articles on website, but asign to each article one, two or three authors - journalists).
Sorry for my bad english.
I wish you the best.
I would like to see a direct news url after adding the news, the newsitems must have a unique ID for it, but it seems cool:
Something like:
<?PHP
include "www.preview.com/news.php?item=203";
?>
And NOT as dificult as:
cutephp.com/index.php?subaction=showfull&id=1130896690&archive=&start_from=&ucat=&
