Topic: Strange bug relating to tags in articles.

Hi,

I've done a bit of searching and was unable to find anything relating to this specific issue but I've got a rather bizarre issue when it comes to the tags for my news. I run a games news/review website and as such I use tags in all my posts as you would expect. Anyway I've got a rather strange issue where if I click the first tag of the latest news article it will show the headlines and article for it just fine, however if I select any other tag on the page it'll only show headlines for the news with that tag but none of the actual article content itself.

I've taken a few screenshots to show the process:

First up the homepage itself showing my sites layout, at the top I have the last 6 headlines and below that the last 6 news articles posted. As you can see the latest one is regarding the release of a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2 HD, it has the tags Kingdom Hearts and Square Enix.

So I click the Kingdom Hearts Tag and the following pops up

So at the top we have all the headlines for articles using the Kingdom Hearts tag, and below all the articles using that tag. Makes sense and works as it should.

However if I click the Square Enix tag this happens.

As you can see it shows the headlines for three articles all containing the Square Enix tag, however where the articles should be there is no content. It happens for any other tag I click, shows the headlines but none of the actual content itself. Anyone came across this or at the very least has an idea of how to fix it?

Did you update your CuteNews to the latest version in Github?

I did so after you mentioned it and still no joy unfortunately.

Seems like there is no fix for this until Support Team actually work on the script itself.

Just avoid using the tag function for now until it is fixed. Other than your above stated bug, there is also a pagination bug to the tag feature whereby the pagination is totally messed up when you enter a specific tag page.

Yeah I'll switch them off in the template, I'll still set tags up for the time when this is, hopefully, fixed.

I'm not entirely sure what the trigger is for the bug, if it is random or what. I've posted a few more news articles since the initial post here. So I thought it might be worth posting this in case the support team are reading.

My latest news post if I click both tags it brings up just the headlines and no content, so I thought that it might possibly be an issue with a tag being across more than one posts as I had used the tags 'Final Fantasy' and 'Square Enix' a number of times and selecting the second posts tags which were 'Zelda', 'Retro Gaming' and 'Editorials' gave me my desired result.

However selecting the Kingdom Hearts tag which is related to just one post gave me the Headline/No Post combination again.

Hopefully the Support_Team put this in their to fix list. There are still several major flaws going around in CN 2.0. One of them is the archives as it is totally not functioning properly.

But rest assured that this will eventually be fixed because recently the Support_Team had fixed the pagination which I had reported and now the pagination is working almost perfectly (less the tag pages pagination). https://cutephp.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
