The number of news items is counted automatically in CuteNews to form pagination. Or you can use the cn_get_news($opts); function to directly read data in the cdata/news/cat.idx I dex file.

So, I've gotten the rewrite working in the lastest version of CuteNews.. but is there a way to make it not make my full story pages .html (and make them .php instead)? And then to write the links when I list headlines without the .php in the link?
I already have edited my .htaccess file so that a link written without an extension will work properly. But I don't know how to get CuteNews to go along with this..Sorry if this seems like a silly question. I feel like the answer should be really obvious but I'm having a complete mind blank...
Could you kindly give us some examples of the links you want to get and how and where you want them to generate, the more details the better. It would also be great if you could send us your modified .htaccess file for our better understanding of the problem.

Hi,
So I tried contacting support a while ago about retrieving lost log in information because I couldn't do forgot password. I got a response but once I explained that I already paid for a pro license and I just wanted to know how to get my registration thing again, I didn't get a reply.
Not sure if it got lost in their spam or whatever, but I figured my purchase was a couple of years ago and they probably don't have the details anymore.
So I tried purchasing a pro license again.. and I couldn't. I got an error saying "We were unable to verify that the information you entered on the order form is valid." and an order ID number. I used the contact form (https://cutephp.com/feedback/) to contact support about it and didn't hear anything back.
So I tried again today, and it didn't work.. got the same error and an order ID. I clicked the link on the same page to send an email about it.
But does anyone else have this problem or know what I should do? I REALLY like CuteNews' simplicity, but at this point I'm not sure what to do.

We'd like to inform you that we've made some changes to the news indexing. A new script migration_update_indexes.php has been added in the Cutenews root to help you upgrade to the latest version from GitHub.
After upgrading from GitHub run the script once and then uninstall it. It is necessary for migrating from previous indexes in the database to the new ones. If the database is extensive, it may take some time, up to 30 seconds.
